Our Belonging Achievement.
We celebrated our Belonging Achievement by singing "You've got a friend in me" and "We're all in this together" for our new reception class. We then handed out cards we had made for them to welcome them into our Sacred Heart Family. Our aim was to ensure they feel that they belong in our school and that we care for each and every one of them.
Cross Country October 2023
We took part in a whole school cross country event recently where every child showed amazing determination and resilience - they were even awarded a BVP each from Miss Walker for showing these amazing british values! The following photos show the whole class ready and raring to go, and our top three girls and boys. We are all so proud of each and every one of them!
Year 5 Football Tournament
We were very lucky to be able to choose some of our year 5 (which was a very tough choice) to play a tournament at Manchester United's training ground at The Cliff. It's a wonderful environment for the children to experience playing football and they did themselves so proud. They played with pride, showing amazig skills alongside great teamwork and sportsmanship. Needless to say that Mr Rotchell and Mrs Conroy, who accompanied the children were extremly proud of them all.
Football Tournament November 2023
We were very fortunate to be able to enter a team from Year 5 into a tournament that was held on the astro pitches at Jubilee Orford Hub. The team were absolutely incredible in their playing, their team spirit, their resileince and positive outlook. They played against amazing and strong teams but shear determination to achieve enabled them to reach the semi finals!! The played a tough match with a great tactics talk held beforehand!! The match was a draw which then meant it was penalty time! The nervous energy was felt all around. Unfortunately, it wasn't meant to be and we lost. The pride these boys felt for each other was incredible to witness, needless to say we are proud of them too!
Positivity Output
To end our curiculum root of Positivity, Year 5 came together with Year 6 to do a "Positivity Parade".
We visited members of our parish and community, as well as parading to the Town Hall, to spread our positivity through the joy of song. Carols were sung on doorsteps, as well as outside the Golden Gates and our Town Hall. They received lots of cheers, beeps from passing vehicles and rounds of applause from all who heard them. It was a very heartwarming parade full of happiness and positivity from the children to all around.
